Retaining, Block, Stone & Garden Walls in Calabasas, CA
Walls are the part of a yard you can't redo cheaply. We design to the soil, over-spec the rebar and build the drainage behind the face — then finish in block, stone or stucco so the structure reads as architecture, not a bandage.

What’s included
Walls, done as one scope.
- Retaining wall design & construction — Engineered, permitted, properly drained and backfilled — built to hold the slope, not just face it.
- Block & stone walls — CMU, veneer stone, dry-stack and flagstone caps finished to match the house.
- Garden & seat walls — Terracing, planters and built-in seating that shape how the yard actually gets used.
- Drainage & erosion control — Behind-wall drainage systems and slope stabilization for hillside lots.

The detail that holds up
Built to spec below the surface.
The visible finish is only half the job. Base prep, drainage, structural reinforcement and correct jointing are what decide whether this still looks right in ten years — so that’s where we over-build.
Walls questions
+Do retaining walls over a certain height need a permit and engineering?
In most Los Angeles and Ventura county jurisdictions, walls over roughly 3–4 feet (or any wall holding a surcharge) need engineered drawings and a permit. We handle the engineering and the permit process.
+What causes a retaining wall to fail?
Almost always missing or clogged drainage behind the wall, or footing depth that doesn't match the soil and slope. We build the drainage first, then the face.
+Can you match a wall's finish to my house?
Yes — veneer stone, stucco and cap details are chosen to tie into the existing architecture rather than looking like a separate structure.
